You are very much aware that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused widespread disruptions adversely impacting the global businesses and economy. The technological and other issues involved in the pandemic are both nuanced and complex. The countries are using robots to disinfect hospitals and deliver medical supplies to data enabled detailed mapping of the outbreak, and to tracking potential carriers. Many such advanced technologies are being deployed across the globe to fight the coronavirus outbreak. As the world adjusts to its new normal, business leaders need to rethink strategies to harness the most potential technologies that would help drive resilience and make them emerge from the crisis stronger.

India has taken the global lead not just from the humanitarian angle, but also from research and technology perspective by providing innovative solutions useful for the global community. Further, international collaborations in the scientific and innovation arenas are fast taking shape and making an enormous difference to save the lives of those worst affected.

CII strongly feels that the need of the hour is to put in place a comprehensive action plan that delineates the role of medical technologies and advanced engineering technologies as India prepares for the “new normal” after Covid-19.
